Acupuncture

Acupuncture needles are very thin and small; consequently, most patients find that treatments are relaxing. Often, patients are not even aware that needles have been inserted.
There are hundreds of acupuncture points in the body: if needles are inserted into these points with appropriate combinations, the energy flow can be brought back into proper balance and the body's self-healing abilities are activated.

Acupressure (Shiatsu)

Japanese acupressure, also known as shiatsu, is acupuncture without using needles and it manipulates acupuncture points to stimulate the body's circulatory and autonomic nervous system.
It helps to relieve pain and tension and it also improves the function of internal organs and other affected areas of the body.
Another benefit of shiatsu's deep and gentle pressure is that it puts both body and mind in a deep state of relaxation.

What can I expect from acupuncture and shiatsu?

An appointment with Tony Kim will involve an assessment of the patient's condition, the acupuncture or acupressure treatments and advice on self-care.
All acupuncture needles are disposable and come packaged and sterilized with ethylene oxide gas.
Acupuncture has no adverse effects or risks.
Shiatsu treatments are generally relaxing as a deep but gentle pressure is normally used; certain areas of your body, however, may feel tender during or following the treatment.
